Base fish launch from the canvas center and replicate at walls. On collision, the larger fish absorbs the smaller and inherits their combined mass; equal fish randomly select a survivor. Large fish bounce instead of replicating.

What makes a fish small or large?

Starting fish and wall-created copies have 1× mass and count as base fish. Any fish above 1× mass is large, and its color shifts as it grows.

How much does a fish grow after eating?

Mass adds directly and circular diameter grows by area. Two 1× fish create 2× mass with a radius √2 times the original, rather than twice the radius.

Do large fish replicate at walls?

No. Only 1× base fish replicate on wall contact. Large fish bounce and keep hunting other fish.

How does the population limit work?

At the ceiling, base fish only bounce. Merging reduces population, so replication can resume as soon as the count drops below the limit.

When does evolution end?

The simulation stops when one fish above 1× mass remains and rules the ecosystem. Release new fry to observe another random path.

Is any data uploaded?

No. Movement, replication, merging, mass calculation and chart rendering all stay in the current browser and are not written to local storage.
